About Us
Huon Valley House is a place where you can unwind in peace and comfort. It’s a spacious, stylish home, with comfortable beds and gorgeous views from every window. It’s private but central to everything the Valley has to offer, and an easy drive to Hobart and other Southern Tasmania destinations.
Outside is an acre of lawn and native gardens, birds and occasional wildlife, plenty of parking and large decks with views in all directions. It’s the perfect luxurious base to explore the south-west.
The open-plan living includes two comfortable dining and seating areas. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes induction cooking. There’s free high-speed NBN/WIFI and Netflix, a 65-inch TV, a fast charging multi device station for your devices (Apple or Android), coffee pods (compostable) to get you started (plus a plunger and tea pot/brewer), and warm passive solar design is backed up with a near-new central Daikin heating and cooling system keeping you comfortable every day of the year.
You will enjoy glorious Huon River elevated views, with a large main deck opening from the living area. Enjoy the piano, lots of books and games and relaxing in the recliner. We subscribe to Tasmania’s flagship arts and lifestyle magazines: ‘40 Degrees South,’ ‘Island Magazine’ and ‘Tasmanian Life,’ with plenty of back-issues to browse. A large section of the block has had secure fencing allowing kids to play outside...or at the other end of the block you will be able to kick a footy as far as you can and enjoy the level open space and gardens.
Each of the four bedrooms has its own nook in the house, and the master includes an ensuite and dressing room along with its own deck. The main bathroom includes a separate bath, and the screenless showers feature rain shower heads. Internal sound-proofing and separate spaces help keep the peace for larger groups. Premium quality, professionally cleaned linen and ethical bathroom products are all included.
There’s also a high chair, port-a-cot and nursing pillow, in case you’re travelling with an infant.
You will have access to the whole house and one acre of level gardens. There is also river access at the end of the street, offering a tranquil spot to unwind, or fishing near the freshwater/estuarine boundary.
No parties! As of 20 August 2020, Airbnb announced a global ban on all parties and events at Airbnb listings, including a cap on occupancy at 16. This party ban applies to all future bookings on Airbnb, and it will remain in effect indefinitely, until further notice.
The house is not suitable for parties or events, in line with Airbnb policies. If our neighbours complain of excessive noise or excessive numbers of people, we will request compensation to pass on to them, as we rely on their goodwill for the operation of our guest accommodation.
Please advise us if more than 4 cars are to be parked on the premises.
We usually have our cute little caravan parked at the property, leaving one undercover car spot and plenty of open air parking.
